To The Iraqi People
We have a national and historical responsibility and in this atmosphere of conflicting statements and positions; we see that it is imperative for us to reiterate our principle position, one which we have referred to in more than one occasion.
We have accepted the responsibility after the nomination of our brothers in INA. We set off with major determination and will, not to seek special interests or competitive authoritarian positions, but in order to provide an advanced model for those who bear the responsibility and respect for the framework of basic rules that make the premiership the lead position of a successful team. We confirm that we will continue with full power to bear this responsibility that we want to be a strong factor that helps to promote independence and national sovereignty, and unity of the Iraqi people and advances cohesion. We must build state institutions, abide by the constitution and the law, reinforce the concepts of good citizenship, genuine partnership, and promote Arab, Islamic and international openness.
If there is objection to the conditions, or mechanisms to prevent the attainment of this lofty goal, then we cannot accept for ourselves to walk in a path that would lead us into pitfalls, where we have long warned other from falling.
We have received since the announcement of the nomination and to this day responsive and great support that allows us to bypass the obstacles, and increases our determination to move forward in cooperation with all our brothers from all sides and in particular the powers and the brothers who entitled us with this responsibility; a responsibility to end this crisis and accelerate the formation of the government.
