Our perceptions of the current stage PDF Print E-mail
isci-new-logoThe Iraqi political arena is going at the current stage through severe turn points and serious dramatically exciting developments, and this will risk all the achievements, and will yield to a state of despair and frustration among many Iraqis. The political disputes, media bickering, and the exchange of accusations have affected effectively the credibility of some politicians. We in ISCI and in front of this grave situation, for the sake of national project which was achieved after great sacrifices by the Iraqi people in the way of liberation and emancipation, we see that the current phase needs to adopt some of the scenarios that we believe can stop the current deterioration and save the national project from collapse including: -
1 – The adoption of constructive dialogue
ISCI believes in adopting a constructive and quiet dialogue that is away from the political escalation through the media. This will prevent the spillover of bickering and mutual accusations among some parties that still insist on fabricating crises to serve their factional or partisan interest that do not serve the interests of partners as well as interests of the Iraqi people.
Logic and wisdom is to understand each other as long as all are partners in the service of people and partners in preserving the unity of the nation and its sovereignty and independence, and this is what calls us all to sit at the table of constructive dialogue to resolve the crises and nationally away from external influences and foreign agendas that are trying to undermine democratic experiment in Iraq, which has become an obsession that haunts some of the dictators in the region because this experience threatens their interests, the interests of their own regimes which have started  to fall apart by the action of the masses.
2 - Stop constitutional violations
The Iraqi constitution has witnessed more than one flagrant violation by some who have started to interpret its articles in accordance with their personal, and factional interests and wrong agendas without a sense of the problem that could be created as a result of the non-commitment to the Constitution as the supreme law of the country which should protect and preserve the integrity of transparent dealings with it. This is because it is above the interests of all and that no one is above the law. We in ISCI believe the restoration to the constitution that has become the most important of our national achievements. Made after the autocracy is the right solution and optimize the resolution of political disputes, and that lack of respect to or violated will return us to square one. That the false interpretations of the Constitution according to personal interests will drag us into the intersection and bickering, and this might lead to breaking point between the partners, putting the security of and safety of the country and the national project at risk.
3 – Maintaining the national partnership
ISCI confirms that the country cannot be managed by a single component or a single party or coalition unless it involves all the components of the Iraqi people. This is because the racial, discrimination, and sectarian and regional exclusion policies pursued by the previous regime,  led the Iraqi people to later move to topple the dictatorial and totalitarian regime.
The consolidation of the national partnership and preserving the rights of Iraqi factions is the best solution for all problems and crises.
4 – The expansion of the powers of provincial councils
The Iraqi constitution confirmed that the form of government in Iraq is a decentralized and federal system, which means that the provincial councils, according to this constitution have broad powers in the administration of their affairs and the federal government is not entitled to  withdraw these powers. Particularly in the area of security and services, employment opportunities and strategic projects that help reconstruction of the infrastructure of these provinces. We in ISCI strongly support the expansion of these powers, especially in the provinces that were devastated and marginalized by the former regime, and that we will not accept the return of the policy  of the discrimination in the administration of the country again.
5 - The withdrawal of foreign forces
ISCI stressed on the signing of the agreement to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq and on the need to meet a full withdrawal of these forces as scheduled after the readiness of the security services to protect the inside of Iraq and called on the Government to equip the new Iraqi army with all kinds of weapons to be able to defend the homeland and its borders. Despite our believe that there are no power able to threaten the security and independence of the country after the fall of the dictatorship, which offered the security of Iraq and the region into war and destruction we have repeatedly stressed that the extension of the security agreement with the U.S. or the need for the existence of some of these forces is entrusted primarily to the military leaders. This is because they are capable technically to have a say on this subject but not on a political basis. This perception means the completion of Iraq's independence and sovereignty on its land, sky and filling the roads in front of terrorist groups  has invoked the call expel the occupier, and as a result the Iraqi people paid a heavy tax in terms of lives and property.
